Bushtrail Camp

In January 2010, The Hollard Foundation paid for all children above 10 years to spend five days at a camp called Bushtrail in the Magaliesberg. Our coaches and our new centre manager accompanied them. The camp was not as well organised as we had hoped and the food was below the standard our children are used to. Nonetheless many of the children found it fun but we will not go there again. The younger children went to a musical at the Market Theatre called Brer Rabbit. The performance was in English and many of our smaller children missed the nuances. Although, by the actions of the performers, they were able to understand the story. However the adventures of rabbits, foxes and other small creatures do not feature much in their lives. After the show, a group of Hollard employees joined the children at the Emmarentia Botanical gardens where they all played games together and walked around wide and safe open spaces, plus the children ate a delicious lunch.
